The famous TV series ‘Saint Tropez’ (SOUS LE SOLEIL), broadcast every Saturday afternoon on TF1 and enjoyed by more than three million faithful viewers, who followed the three protagonists Jessica (Tonya Kinzinger), Caroline (Adeline Blondieau) and Laure (Bénédicte Delmas), came to an end.

In the 2000s, the show put Saint Tropez back in the spotlight and the village’s fame contributed to the series’s international success with the title SAINT-TROPEZ.

Although it has been criticised and denigrated by some, the extent to which this show reached the French and foreign public, its fame, its longevity, and its filming techniques were trendsetters for many other French television series.

What better place than the Musée de la Gendarmerie et du cinéma to present a temporary exhibition about this Tropezian saga, filmed between 1996 and 2008, which marked a whole generation and had a great and wide-ranging impact on the local economy.

Upon entering, visitors are immersed in the atmosphere and universe of this iconic series thanks to the sets, objects, and beautiful photographs. As the exhibition unfolds, visitors will learn more about the filming set that was installed in the village of Saint-Tropez over a period of 12 years and 480 episodes.
